Living History > Customer Review #1:
Insincere and transparent...

Mrs. Clinton surely has better things to do as NYs Senator than recant her take on the Clinton years. I confess Ive not read this book in its entirety - Ive read a substantial amount, however, and it doesnt take much to realize what Hillary is really going for. The whole thing reads like a compendium of modern fables, with seemingly insignificant folks having the most dramatic impact on her life, and vice versa. It shows a compassionate Hillary, an intelligent Hillary, a humorous Hillary, and most importantly, a forgiving Hillary. The book gets two stars instead of the abysmal one because it is entertaining in a way that I dont think it intended to be. Reading some parts while reflecting the historical moment references is just ridiculously funny.

If you cant read between the lines, the entire book is silently urging its readers to tell their friends "Hey, shes not that bad!" The "Living History" of which she speaks were the good ole years - and you know what, putting another Clinton in the White House just might bring em back! After all, it was a Republican president who was responsible for the economic downturn, no? Anyway, this book is nothing more than an insincere and transparent attempt to sell a woman with unlimited ambition and resolve to an American public weary of her and her husband. If you must read it, save the $20something bucks and run a few searches on various newspaper/journal websites about Hillary Clinton. I honestly couldnt give a rats behind about half if not all of the stuff in this book - Im far more interested in what shes doing, thinking, and desiring NOW.

A walk in History

This book recounts the years of the Clinton presidency, from a historic view point. The drama of these years is discussed, but the impact of the trips to foreign nations and the difficulty of raising a family take center stage. Yes, we get the writers political views, but the interest is in the peoples and place traveled. She shares with us what she learned on all thosetrips paid for with our tax payer dollars. If you can set aside your preconceived politacal beliefs, there is allot to be learned about our world in these pages.

oof

As a one-time supporter of both Hillary and Bill, I have become accustomed over the last 5 years to the bleak, desolate feeling of my world crumbling around me. I thought that the destruction was over and that I may at long last begin rebuilding my world on a foundation of sanity. But once again, a Clinton bleats out another affront that hits me like a shot in the gut.

This book is repugnant. I had hoped for a mea culpa - an apology - an acknowledgement of what she and her husband did to the country over the years. There is none of this. It is revolting, disgusting tripe, nothing more than a pile of simple lies served up for simpletons to savor. The person who suggested that this woman is twisted was dead-on. She needs medication and therapy. There is no limit to the destruction this woman would wreak on human beings if left to her own devices, absent the corrective measure of that which she abhors, the vote.
