Customer Review #1:
This is some heavy research. Very impressive.
What really stands out about this book is the research. Its painstaking. The attention to detail is extraordinary. Most authors blow off this kind of detail, but Ms. Scotts extra effort helped me feel like I was there, riding in Tupacs car, or with police detectives. Im more of a fan of crime stories and detective work than of rap music, but the story she tells about Tupacs life and background really makes me relate to and like the guy. Still, it is the exhaustive research and details of the investigation that made me unable to put this book down. Even if you know nothing of rap or Tupac, like me, this is a fascinating read.

DEAD OR ALIVE, TUPAC LIVES ON
I got this book to get the "whole story" on Tupacs death, because there was always bits of info and I never knew what the actual facts were. This book was really informative, it represented the facts and covered everything from the night of his death, motives for it, and it also discussed whether hes dead or alive. I love Tupac and although parts of the book were sad it brought all the circumstances around his death together, which was a real plus. I definately recommend this book for all Tupac fans!

Customer Review #3:
Very much worth the read
I place this book beside another three books on Tupac which I feel are must reads: [1] "Back in the Day" by Darrin Keith Bastfield, [2] "Holler if you hear me" by Michael Eric Dyson, and [3] "Got your back" by Frank Alexander. These three plus Cathy Scotts book paint a complete picture of his life and death. Cathy Scotts book is thoroughly researched but some facts that are commonly excepted as fact are expressed differently by her. It is evident in this book that she wishes she could talk about the investigation into Pacs death but the sad fact is that there is no investigation. Witnesss refuse to cooperate and the incidents on the night of his death make the whole situation difficult for the police. Scott tries to circumvent this very hard but in the end she fails. The book also deals with the murders of Biggie, Orlando Anderson, Yafeu Fula and discusses how moronic the "he is alive" theories are as well. Very good book overall and a very quick read.
